SUBWOOFERS

If you are looking for the absolute ultimate low bass production, you need look no further than the Epik Conquest. In fact, if you have already purchased a subwoofer that costs more than the Epik Conquest, you should probably stop reading the rest of this page. Nothing on the planet can do what the Conquest can do.

The Conquest is the result of a seemingly nonstop quest for the best low bass performance that you can buy. Period. Measuring, testing, and listening tests were performed countless times to keep pushing the envelope of what was commercially available.

Years of designing and prototyping went into its creation. Any subwoofer available from any manufacturer was looked upon for a comparison as what represented the ultimate subwoofer. We wanted to offer more, and we also wanted to offer better performance across the board.

And so, the designing began. Nearly two dozen 18 inch driver prototypes were built and tested for the design. Each one improved upon the one before it. The final version of the driver that proudly sits in our finished product is a piece of engineering perfection.

The 18 inch driver size was chosen for its massive cone area. The large pistonic surface results in increased efficiency versus a smaller cone. But the cone needs more motor strength to properly operate in direct relation to its large cone.

The answer was of course to build an enormous motor to go along with the cone. Supported by an equally impressive 12-spoke cast aluminum basket is the magnet structure. More than twice as large as any of our 15 inch motors, it is overbuilt and then some.

Every other aspect of the driver was improved to handle the strength of the motor and the large and powerful 18 inch cone. The finished design is both outrageously efficient and very reliable. With nearly 3000 watts worth of power handling thanks to its cooling system, even the power from its 1000 watt amplifier is handled with ease.

Of course, that means that the cabinet needs to be just as good if not better than the components going into it. Once again, we do not disappoint. The Conquest’s cabinet is the most complicated and overbuilt of all our subwoofer offerings.

The internal bracing is awe-inspiring. It stops the cabinet from flexing which keeps its pristine sound quality intact. Cabinet vibrations are not allowed to color the sound. The internal bracing also manages to provide magnificent rigidity while still allowing massive amounts of air to freely flow inside.

The Conquest calls upon a pair of 6 inch ports to handle the lowest frequencies. Each patented port is fitted with a pair of flared openings that open to nearly 8 inches on each end. The amount of air that can be pressurized in a listening room by the dual ports is awe-inspiring.

The ports feature a low tuning that lets the Conquest dig deep. The large cabinet is fully taken advantage of by the large port area and the low tuning. The overall efficiency of the system is part of why it is able to reach such incredible levels of output.

The driver also adds to this performance. The ratio of the motor strength to the weight of the 18 inch Kevlar reinforced cone is massive. The control it exhibits over the cone is part of what makes it sound so good and respond with lightning fast transient response.

The Conquest simply must be heard to be believed. It offers output beyond the realm of any subwoofer that we are aware of, regardless of the cost. When you can have this kind of performance for under $2000 when other manufacturers are charging 5 to 10+ times as much for less output, the choice becomes very clear. The Conquest has arrived.

All of our subwoofers are designed with the same goals in mind: Extremely high output capabilities, low distortion and magnificent effortlessness and clarity on even the most demanding material. As you move up the product line from the Knight to the Conquest you will notice an increase in performance and sound quality. But even our entry-level subwoofer features a massive 15” high excursion driver and matching enclosure for diabolical performance.
