"I'm jazzed about the Epik Empire."
-Steve Guttenberg, CNET
"If you care at all about the quality of your sound system, this is the kind of punch that your ear drums deserve."
-Stuff, Maxim.com
"The King Kong of Affordable Subwoofers"
-Steve Guttenberg, CNET
"The Conquest has Herculean SPL capability... The uniformity of the Conquest dynamic capability exceeds that of any commercial product I've ever measured."
- Tom Nousaine, Reviewer
"Very impressive, the Legend... I cannot think of an alternative that offers the same musicality as the Legend while still having the same authority in the lowest end. The Holy Trinity (a compact design, musicality and low end) is possible at this price level."
- Wouter De Raeve, AudioVideo2Day
"So, this is what real bass is. Once you get used to this level of performance it's hard to give it up."
- Kevin Lichterman, Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity

"Of all the subs this one had the lowest SPL's yet on the low note of the song I felt it moved more air and had more oomph than any other sub on this particular track."
- Customer Review, AVS Forum Shootout
"HOLY CRAP these are unbelievable. As a background, I've owned a SVS PB10-NSD, and Axiom EP-500, and my last sub was an Epik Sentinel. I hooked up just one of the Empires first and it completely blew every other sub I've owned out of the water (forgive the enthusiasm, I can't help it). Fantastic, tight, mid bass and CRAZY low end. I was really worried about losing the deep stuff going from a Sentinel to an Empire, but no one should ever worry about that. My girlfriend instantly could tell how much better it sounded than the last sub...and then I hooked up the second sub. Gobs and Gobs and Gobs of bass across every frequency. I could not believe it... My regular bass test disc is the sonic cannon scene in the Incredible Hulk. I had both Empires hooked up, and mistakenly had their gain on 12 o'clock, terrible idea. Why? Because when those sonic cannons went off, oh my god, I've never NEVER experienced bass like that. It was like a giant grabbed my apartment and just shook the hell out of it. I thought the stud walls were going to fall apart. I had to hit the stop button immediately. It was too much. Can you believe I just said that? I have too much bass. I had to turn the subs way down to a quarter of their gain just to finish the scene."

"The dual Empires are a winner for me ....and my room is over 6000+ cu ft. The dual Empires are all that I will ever need. Another big WINNER!"
- Bill S, Customer Email
"I listened to WOTW, Fellowship of the Ring, and I Am Legend (on my Epik Empire). Replacing what I really believed was a good set of Outlaws LFM-1 & 2... Holy cow! There were things the Outlaw just didn't reproduce well. I have never heard those movies like that. I love it."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"It's true what they say about the mid-bass on this Empire. It kicks you right square in the chest, HARD...This sub is definitely way more accurate and precise than the MFW-15... ya can't bottom this monster out. The Empire puts out enough bass to make the room shake, rattle, and roll. I demoed some scenes from Live Free Die Hard, WOTW, & GI Joe and man my bass is back!!! It was definitely a more enjoyable experience."
- Customer Post, Emotiva Lounge
"Got the Legend this afternoon and set it up. Sounds really good right out of the box! Totally smokes my Polk PSW505. Can't wait to hear what it can do after it breaks in."
- Dan in Vermont, Customer Email
"I got the dual Empires... and I can tell these things are potent because my wife came across our large apartment to ask why the house was shaking."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I'm really loving my Empire. I don't know if it's break-in or some other phenomenon, but I seem to enjoy it a little more each time I listen to it. I watched Hurt Locker last night and the sniper scene everyone has been raving about lived up to the hype. It felt like I had buttkickers on my sofa. Even my wife was in awe...I'm really happy I took the plunge."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I purchased the Empire as my first sub...MC music and Blue Ray movie concerts have new life. Scenes from Terminator & Hurt Locker went real low and this sub performed flawlessly adding a clean WOW! to the experience. I am considering adding another not because I really need it but because it seems like such a good deal and I'm sure there would be another improvement with the additional SPL but you won't go wrong with a single to start with."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"Epik subwoofers don't bottom out before your ears melt."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I watched Michael Jackson's This Is It on blu-ray and the Empire sounded fantastic. Very articulate, quick and full sounding is the best way I can describe it."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I like the Epik Empire more every time I listen to it. I can't think of a better out-of-the-box bass value under $1000."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"When the Empire came out I jumped on it before any reviews came out and before there were any detailed reports about it. The ONLY regret I have is that I did not get two. The Empire sub sounds sweet with movies, brings a new dimension to playing video games and absolutely slams out the tunes when played HARD with music. Thank you Epik, it is more than I had hoped for."
-Nick M, Customer Email
"My old setup had a Velodyne SPL1000R and a ML Abyss stacked...I also have two SVS PB10's...I ran through a couple of favorite LFE movies scenes at different volume levels and am finding the Empire alone can cleanly and easily match the combined output of my other four units. I am really loving this sub right now and think it is probably the best value out there."
- Dave C, Customer Email
"WOW!!! These two subs filled my ~13,000 cubic feet with a TON more sound than my 17 yr old Velodyne F-1200 did...I played the first 15 mins of The Bourne Ultimatum at full reference level. HOLY CRAP!!! Can't say how the Empires compare to anything but my old Velo F-1200 - but ONE Empire blows it away in depth and impact."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"Instead of bass sounding like "boom, boom, boom" (all sounding the same), with my new Empire you hear the textures and notes, short and quiet strikes and plucks, versus the long rumbles at various frequencies. Basically, you can rediscover your music collection and find bass and notes and textures and detail you never heard before."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I have to say my new Empire is a big improvement over the HSU VTF3mk2 for both music & movies. An electric bass guitar does NOT sound like a dinosaur jumping up and down on the floor as it did previously. It sounds like a bass guitar. Watched Terminator Salvation and Serenity Blu Rays and it felt like the house was coming apart. I can't imagine having 2-4 of these things. Very little cabinet vibration but by-gawd everything else does! For roughly the same money as the HSU the Empire is a no brainer. Anyone sitting on the fence had better jump on it before the price goes up. Glad I did."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"So now that I have had a chance to live with Quad Empire's for a week... the area that has surprised me more than anything is music. I have been listening to music every night for an hour or two, and am absolutely loving it. These subs have such a different blend with my setup than my SVS's had, it is a night and day difference with music playback. I have two subs in the front of the room and two in the back and have zero localization. I could always locate my rear SVS. The enhancement to my musical playback has really made me feel like a kid again, going back and playing records and CD's I haven't listened to in years. These subs, in my room at least, are the most enjoyable I have ever had. That includes SVS, Energy, Triad, Velodyne, Sunfire, and JL Audio...I cannot imagine having better bass in my room. Not just better bass for the price, but better bass period...I am done searching for subs."
- Adam W, Customer Email
"I realized that what I was missing in my HT was the kick-in-the-chest feeling I got at live concerts. I had plenty of low end impact and rumble but I never really felt that punch before. Now I have dual Empires. I can honestly say that what I felt at that show last night is what I feel in my HT now. Success!"
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"After owning my dual Empires for a few weeks now... All I can say is WOW!!!! I think even the most discerning audiophile would say the two subs are "adequate" for my ~13,000 cubic feet. To me, it's freaking FANTASTIC - on par with a very good movie theater. WHOO-HOO!!!"
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"The word that comes to mind to describe the experience each time is "intoxicating." I love just sitting in the MLP and letting myself get immersed in the movie or music. The Empires are so smooth and subtle, yet they really make their presence known when called upon. My only complaint is I don't have enough time as I'd like to enjoy the system, but that's okay, because when I do have the time, it makes it that much better."
- Don B, Customer Email
"The Empires are plenty for the room. They do deliver when called for with low distortion. Believe me, dual Empires make the room shake like the Conquest did. The Empires have a more detailed SQ where the Conquest SQ had more of a rumble. Excellent sub Chad, I'm in subwoofer heaven with the Empires!"
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"...the answer to many budget audiophile's dreams."
- Craig Chase, Online Subwoofer Reviewer
"I have heard [the Master & Commander] scene demoed many times, but I have never heard it reproduced better or with any more realism. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief."
- N. Reed, AVS Forum
"I'm very pleased not only with after the sale service but you and your staff took the time for me to ask all my silly questions knowing full well the backlog you guys are dealing with. I find this to be rare in today's workplace as I strive to run my business the same way. It's refreshing to deal with a company such as yours."
- Ricky Collins, Customer Email
"Epik's customer service has been nothing but AA++."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"My wife loves what this beast does for movie watching. She brags about it to all our
friends and family."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"Talk about full bodied bass. This baby rumbles- effortlessly."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"My Epik completely kicks the pants off my old Def Tech 8" sub. Words cannot describe how pleased I am with the earthquakes this thing can create."
- Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I had the pleasure of listening to one of these Epik monsters not too long ago and was utterly and almost literally blown away!!!"
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I listened to the Epik Dragon and wow! I swear that thing was going below 20Hz, rattling the walls and my bones. With music it has a fast, tight response with no distortion. And, in home theater, you can forget about it! It's unbelievable!! I thought Velodyne makes good subs but these blow them out of the water."
-Customer Post, Polk Audio Forum
"I had a JBL 8400. The Legend sounds great and is a noticeable improvement from the JBL. I have the subwoofer in my living room. The Legend looks really nice also. The rounded edges are a good touch. The cloth on the side really "softens" the look of the speaker. Thanks!"
-David M, Customer Email
"Having been through a HSU VTF3, and an MFW-15, I can say that the Epik Phoenix trumps both, no matter what parameter you'd want to use....depth, output, visceral, slam, musicality, etc. Just as importantly, I can't seem to trip up the Phoenix (and I've tried). I can't get it to bottom out. I can't get it to make any untoward sounds. Just gobs and gobs of quality LFE."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"This thing hits hard! I am coming from a Sunfire True sub and I thought that little sucker hit hard. The Epik Phoenix absolutely kills it!"
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I have a Velodyne SPL12R and I love that sub to death but man, the Epik Dynasty is a whole other level."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"These subs love abuse. Every time I push the sub, it gets louder and hits harder. I have not reached the limits of the Epik Dragon. The only limit was my ears."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"One word describes everything about the Epik Empire: FLAWLESS"
-Joshua M, Customer Email
"I'm getting appreciable output on my Epik Phoenix at 12Hz. My previous subs were HSU VTF2, HSU VTF3, and the MFW-15. None of those subs offered that....not even close. Truth told, I'm noticing LFE with familiar sources that I never heard before, with any of my previous subs. I've got subsonic material that I didn't even know existed!"
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I cannot say enough about this subwoofer!"
-Customer Post, Audioholics Forum
"This thing is built like a tank: very inert cabinet with a smooth black, satin-like finish. Short of a fancy veneer or highly polished black finish, the Epik exudes quality."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"In addition to the top notch build, quality of materials and SPL performance, the quality of bass is unsurpassed!"
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"Compared to the Paradigm Seismic12 that it is replacing, my Epik Phoenix goes lower and louder. This sub has the power to overcome a pretty bad null in my seating location and it did it without complaining!"
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"The 18" drivers can really take abuse. I was playing music for 5hrs straight and then a movie right afterwards with no problems. The Epik doesn't let up. It keeps coming back for more."
-Customer Post, AVS Forum
"I am simply speechless by the performance this thing has! Man, I know it will only get better as I fine tune it and the room. For now, I am one extremely happy customer."
